Empowering Public Health Worldwide
Our Inspirational Journey
The Global Public Health University GPHU is an offshoot of the LiveWell Initiative LWI Academy LWIA, an academic institution launched on February 10th 2011 at the Protea Hotel Lagos Nigeria by the then CBN Governor, now former Emir, the Dan Majen Kano.
With 6 Faculties, the LWI Academy has trained thousands of candidates from all walks of life, in public health, health education and humanities courses.
The journey of GPHU began with a vision to collaborate with renowned institutions like Harvard University and Mayo Clinic, forging partnerships to enhance the quality of public health education. This led to the establishment of a Virtual University with innovative hybrid learning options.
GPHU has been recognized for its excellence in public health education and its valuable contributions to the field. The institution has received awards for its impactful collaborations, dedication to advancing public health knowledge, and commitment to empowering future public health leaders.

Vision: Our vision is to be recognized nationally and internationally as the Leading Global Health Training Institution, second to none in Africa and the Emerging Economies and at parity with top global institutions.
